Encountering Sean
And autumn leaves that gently fall, to crunch through them he hears them call.
Or winters chill on quiet walks, he keeps his appointment, with Jesus he talks.
Or spring times thrill, awakening flowers, showing God's amazing power.
You will encounter.........Sean
New birth..the baby birds are peeping, woodland animals are creeping.
Babbling brooks flow over rocks, above the trees, a soaring hawk.
Quiet now so you can listen, as the dew on gardens glisten.
His breath, so slow and even now, do you see?, his head is bowed.
Wait, to encounter.......Sean
Words that seem to flow so free, melancholy they will be.
A song seeps out from deep within, because he has been freed from sin.
So rich so deep and so sincere, a life that's free need never fear.
He sings to let the whole world know, that through God's Sprit you can grow.
Listen, and encounter.........Sean
Ebony and Ivory, fingers dance across the keys.
He plays to glorify the King, while with his family he sings.
He's contemplative as he writes of a battle fought to win the right
Through love, Christ captivates our hearts, surrender, that is where it starts.
Music has encountered..........Sean
A signal wakes him from his rest, up quick!, he's off to do his best.
A human life hangs by a thread, a prayer to his Father is being said.
Compassion draws him to this life, so filled with grief, so filled with strife.
God's blessed! Another life is spared, through a vessel filled with care.
Be glad you encountered.............Sean
Smiles big and smiles small, this young man loves them, one and all.
From North to South, from East to West, now I am sure that you have guessed.
From young or old, he doesn't care, He likes to see them everywhere.
How can one refuse to smile, just stop and talk with him awhile.
Smile when you encounter........Sean
LONG AGO AND FAR AWAY, he heard Christ say YOU CHOOSE.
TAKE UP YOUR CROSS and follow me, there's nothing you will loose.
His DEAREST MOTHER prayed for him, WHERE ARE THE CHILDREN? she heard.
Her faithful prayers were answered, he's living his life by God's word.
Sean has encountered........God
TO LIVE IS CHRIST, to die is gain, he's commitment to Christ, come joy or come pain.
A PROMISE was given by OUR PRECIOUS LORD JESUS, ascending on high, He said He'd never leave us.
AWAY IN THE DARKNESS are souls that are lost, let's tell them of Jesus who died on the cross.
I BELIEVE IN MIRACLES, in faith he will say, before he speaks to others, for God's power he'll pray.
Sean will encounter..........God's grace
Of all the pictures he could share, from close at home or places rare.
His favorite one just has to be, of his Best Friends Audacity!
To give up heaven and come to die, just ask, and Sean will tell you why.
No portrait paints the shame Christ took, this picture's written in a book.
Picture an encounter...........with God
Loyalty, never breaking a trust, faithfulness unto the end, is a must.
Simplicity, meekness in all that you do, the less ostentatious then Christ can shine through.
Integrity, character wrought through God's grace, not just at home but in any place.
Purity, like the spotless white lamb, he wants to reflect, the great I AM.
MY PRAYER, is that YOU will encounter.......Sean's GOD.
Love, Auntie Diane

All in One Girl
She has much more to celebrate than her 26th birthday.
We heard she and her brother to Wisconsin they did go,
So to the nursing board Chantée her knowledge she could show.
We're sure she studied hard but more than facts Chantée did learn,
Our heavenly Father's love for others in her heart does burn.
So along with all the bed pans, meds, and stitches she might sow,
She hopes to plant into their hearts God's love that it might grow.
Chantée might come off shy but we know better 'cause we've seen,
She's not afraid of much, on top of mountains she has been.
In fact if not for lightening, off a mountain she'd have repelled.
But to her mothers comfort that adventure it got squelched.
The music that comes out when pulling bow across the strings,
Of her violin, I'm sure it makes the angels want to sing.
She's passing on that talent now, to others she is teaching,
And one more talent she's been blessed with is the love of preaching.
Not to the choir you must know, she looks for souls who seek,
To learn of God's great love for those who like Him will be meek.
There is another side of her that makes her so much fun,
And I could keep you here awhile , 'cause I have just begun.
One time when at a family camp I saw this silly girl,
Around her and up to her knees a muddy mess did swirl.
You see a little feller and his bike flew in it first.
To rescue bike or eyeglasses, now which of these was worst?
So in she went with bare feet squishing in that muddy mess,
Let go her fear of crawdads, not her favorite you have guessed.
She loves most other creatures and her sister Tash will tell,
Of a snake skin deteriorating and into her hair it fell.
Of all the things that I could tell, my favorite one to share,
Is that she loves her family, to them she gives great care.
Their home has horses, dog, and many hummingbirds around,
But with her precious family, there most happily be found.
Chantée is just a bundle of God's cre-a-tivity,
And that is why Chantée is special, wouldn't you agree!

Anthony's Prayer
Anthony’s Prayer
Now I lay me down to sleep, but somewhere far from here,
My daddy fights for others so they don’t have to fear.
I know that he’ll be home soon, and then with me he’ll play.
I think about it often. That will be my favorite day.
But tonight I ask a special blessing for my daddy, God,
‘Cause instead of kneelin’ next to me he kneels on foreign sod.
Please watch over and protect him, he’s my best friend you know
And I want him right beside me, so he can watch me grow.
He’s a hero in my eyes Lord and I’m glad that he’s my dad.
And I’ll try to be real brave now, though sometimes it makes me sad.
When our freedom’s under fire, he’s not afraid to go
But I’m sure I saw a tear Lord, last time he left me though.
Well I think my favorite colors; have become Red, White and Blue.
‘Cause those colors speak of honor, and to them my daddies true.
Now the Red it stands for Valor, the White for Purity,
The Blue it stands for Justice, Daddy’s faithful to all three.
Long ago there was a war Lord, and it started up above.
‘Cause one that You created, somehow thought you didn’t Love.
And he’s causing trouble here now, but before this world began
You devised a plan to save us, before You created man.
It was Your Son, Heavenly Father, who died upon that tree,
And you sent Him so much farther, than just across the sea.
The Blood He shed was Red Lord, Though His life was White it’s true
they beat Your own Son Jesus, till He was black and Blue
Now I lay me down to sleep, and to You I give my heart
I want to make my daddy proud, by my life to do my part
Just like my daddy’s faithful, to the Red, the White, the Blue
Now I promise to be faithful, like my daddy taught me to.

OOPS!!!
The things I've left unfinished, If you looked around would show.
So I'll be signing off now, in the future be more careful,
There's more important things to do, of those I must be prayerful.
Have a Ducky Day!!
Birthday Poem
Written for my son Dale
Happy Birthday Dale!!!!
Doesn’t seem that long ago,
A baby boy was born.
He came into my life
About the time my heart was torn.
He brought such joy that I could just
Forget about the sorrow,
And gazing on his precious face
Look forward to tomorrow.
Been many years now since that day
And still he brings me joy.
But now he’s not a baby
Not even just a boy.
He’s all grown up into a man,
It’s plain as it can be,
That God has answered prayers I’ve prayed
And truly He’s blessed me!
I am so proud of you my son.
Keep growing day by day.
Stay on your knees, be humble,
And don’t forget to pray.
Then one day soon when Jesus comes
Together we will rise.
And we will hear the Father say
Come in and claim your prize.
I want to hear those words with you,
Well done my faithful friend.
Now with eternity before us
We will never hear “THE END”
Tribute to My Children
My son Torry was graduating from Bryan LGH nursing program.
My son Dale had previously graduated from Denver Community College in Physical Therapy Assistant, as well as Massage Therapy from another program.
I wanted to include both in my poem...but I just can't seem to write short poems and it ended up being a tribute to ALL my children...
TRIBUTE TO MY CHILDREN
This whole thing got started to celebrate Torry,
But I feel I must tell you the rest of the story.
Though we’re here to give thanks for accomplishments met,
If I kept my heart silent I would always regret.
Not sharing my feelings with you for all five,
In their own special way each ones had to strive.
Bear with me as I share why I’m also fond,
Of Tanaya, and Dale, Jenae and my John.
I must say from the start, I love each one the best,
You might think that funny, but I do not jest.
Each one has their talents; we know this is true,
Developed through patience as daily they grew.
But the talents that impress me are not all the normal,
Like singing and dancing, or playing piano,
Not riding a horse, or writing a song,
Not making big paychecks though those are not wrong.
It’s not having a big house or fancy new car,
Not even to hear that you’re known near and far.
It’s not your new hairdo or the outfit you found
That makes you look stunning when you twirl around.
It wasn’t the things you could do with your might;
It’s not the degree or your name up in lights.
It won’t be the income you get from your work,
Yet, now come to think, it would be a perk!
No really, there’s nothing in this whole world through
Would make me feel prouder than I already do
Just knowing the way God has worked in your life.
Though you faced many trials, were patient through strife.
When the choices were hard, didn’t think you could take it,
To hear those sweet words “Mom, we’re going to make it.”
It’s looking for ways to give of yourself,
And putting your plans back up on the shelf.
My joy has come, as I’ve heard someone say,
“I have been blessed by your child today.
They lightened my load, brought a smile to my face,
Gave me hope once again in this ole’ human race.”
Because you took time, and an ear you did give,
You made their heart lighter, gave a reason to live.
Instead of your studies you gave some advice,
And helped out a friend, now I think that was nice.
When you built cardboard cities, and helped the youth see
What it’s like to live outside while you tried not to freeze.
30 hours you fasted, while collecting food cans.
Teaching others to give of themselves was the plan.
Took loans for your school bill so that you could pay
For 3 lucky boys so that they could stay.
And learn to share Jesus across the wide sea,
How happy for them their parent must be.
Your desire to be what God wants you to be,
Even though at the moment you somehow can’t see;
When you put your plans off to help someone in need,
I know you shared Jesus, and I bet you’ll agree
That you captured the hearts of your two little nieces;
Being home was much better and they love you to pieces.
Just be patient and wait; God will show you one day,
His will has been perfect, I know you will say
Take out trash and the compost, recycle the cans,
Vacuum floors, wash the dishes, do you have dish pan hands?
Though you were my go-getter, and you felt like a gofer,
To your future wife, won’t be sendin’ a loafer
Wrote a song, and then sang it, for all to hear,
How you’re proud of your father that made him feel dear;
But not even those things made you dearer to me,
‘Cause remember now it’s not what you see…
On the outside that even begins to impress,
It’s what’s on the inside that I want to address:
What comes out from a heart that is filled up with love
From your heavenly Father who lives up above.
And, He’s someone else you can not impress,
By your talents, your voice, or even your dress,
Your wisdom, your work, not one thing that you’ve done,
But just because you are his daughters and sons.
He’s the One who can show, by His perfect example,
How to live by His grace and I know it is ample.
I know He’ll provide for each one of your needs,
He’s there to bring comfort if your heart ever bleeds.
I want us to live in that home He is making,
And there’s nothing here any one will be taking,
Accept for those things you have done from the heart
In helping bless others, now I’m back to the start.
This poem you might think a real work of art;
It was easy ‘cause it each line came right from a heart
That was filled by the Spirit of God long ago,
When I asked my dear Savior this old heart so cold
To take it and change it and give me one new,
So I could be His example and maybe show you
By a life lived for Jesus, that His ways are best,
But I failed you so often and caused you distress.
Please forgive me and know what I say now is true,
I LOVE YOU and I’m PROUD simply ‘cause you are YOU.
Now WAIT!!! I know that you thought I was done,
But the fact is I have one more daughter and son.
I got them the day that my children they married,
But from that day to this in my heart them I’ve carried,
And I’d like to give tribute to them if I may
And tell them the things that I feel I must say
Because they are both special, I am proud of them too;
Why is that, you might ask? Well, let me tell you.
The son’s name is Jeremy, my daughter his wife;
I must say I’m glad he came into our life.
I’ve not seen this one grow from his childhood days,
But his growth since I’ve known him I now want to praise.
He has been through some tough times in his growing up years,
Some things that would bring a person to tears.
But he’s not given in, now he works with the trains.
The Railroad uses his brawn and his brains.
The two are proud parents of Elli you know,
Our sweet little princess, who she loves does show.
We also have Bailey, who came with our son,
A grandson, and so far he’s the only one.
So thank you dear Jeremy for loving my daughter,
And also for being, such a good father.
The daughter came into our lives goes the story,
When she chose to marry our first son named Torry.
Now she finished school then gave up the notion,
To swim with the sharks down deep in the ocean.
And work from the dark hours until morning light;
Don’t know how she did it, just so Torry might
Go get the diploma we celebrate here,
So for Chrissy I just want to give a big cheer.
Mothered Rome ‘n’ baby Eve and kept up the house,
While supporting the family to help out her spouse
So that Torry could study and when he was done,
Then He’d go to work and get off his buns.
NOW, you know I was teasing, He’s never been still,
He’s cared for his family and he always will.
He’ll work in the ER, those patients he’ll care for,
(Does that hospital know just what they are in for?)
He’s worked hard and made the good grades we all know,
Have brought us to this night so that he could show
That the hard work paid off, and this is the lesson:
When you give of your best you receive back a blessin’.
He trusted in God to provide all the way,
And many a time he would call and we’d pray.
He gives God the glory for the works that’s been done,
So let’s celebrate now cause we’re here to have fun.
Love,
MOMMY

Special Friends
I shared a poem I had written and put to music, with a young friend of mine.. She said, she would like me to write a poem for her...One evening I got a phone call from my daughter saying, that Natashia would like me to write her poem about why she Loves ME. Funny request I thought, but, the words flew out so fast, I had to sit at the computer and put them down.
Here it is... p.s. I LOVE YOU TASH!
SPECIAL FRIENDS
Natasha thinks her Auntie, is really pretty ducky.
But what she doesn’t know, is her Auntie feels so lucky.
Because this auntie cherishes, the hugs this girl bestows.
And each time that I see her, my love for her just grows.
Her Auntie is quite silly, embarrassing herself,
But somehow or another, in her my Tash sees wealth.
Now Aunties can’t have favorites, I love her like the rest,
With all the crazy memories, of this I cannot jest.
I count it quite a privilege, to have come into her life,
One day some lucky fellow, will be blessed that she’s his wife.
I’ve listened to her family tell, the blessing that she’s given.
She’s drawn her family heavenward, by God’s love she was driven.
But Tasha asked me to recite, the reasons that she loves,
I think it’s that were both related to the man above.
I’m thankful that she see beneath this sometimes foolish friend,
And understands theres hope for me, my heart through Christ to bend.
So that one day, we both will hear, well done thy faithful child,
Come from our best friend Jesus, who is so meek and mild.
Then heart to heart and hand in hand together we will walk,
The streets of Gold forever....up there have time to talk.
And I have heard that we will not recall our trials here.
For heaven will be cheep enough, we’ll no more shed a tear.
But sing forever of the God who gave to us His Son.
Eternity before us, our forever’s just begun =)
